Easter and EATING?

Easter was SO much fun this year. I know Scarlet wasn't old enough to even know what was going on, but it was still the most exciting one ever! We got her a little pin-wheel which she was really confused by. And a cute dress, which put her life in danger, because it some how accentuated those amazingly adorable cheeks of hers so people wanted to nibble on them even MORE then usual :), a new kite which we're really excited to fly at the park in the near future, and a big tube of bubbles. It was so much fun spending time with all of our family. I don't know what it is, but holidays are just so much better with kids. :)
Besides it being Scarlet's first Easter it was also her first day, besides her blessing, at church! What a wonderful day that was!

She was very confused about the flowers, but quickly grew to love them. :)



This week was also SO exciting because Scarlet had her first taste of RICE CEREAL!! It was quite a big deal around here to say the least. I'd been putting it off because I was a little worried since I had no idea what I was doing, but after a bunch of WONDERFUL advice from my sister (I just don't know what i'd do without her) I felt like we were pretty ready to take on the challenge. Scarlet was SO excited! She loved it.

How Important are Vitamins Really?

Poor Scarlet. Per Pediatrician's instruction, we're supposed to start giving her her daily Vitamins. It's so sad!! This is a little of what the cutie little girl has to go through every night. :(



On a happier note! I've FINALLY finished a little project for her nursery. Not to worry, it only took til she was 4 months old.. Aw well, better late then never. I'm so glad to finally be done with those letters! I'm still hoping to spruce them up a little with some flowers.. But they're on the wall!! And I think they turned out fun. :)

~Cancun~

Scarlet is getting SO BIG! It's crazy! She's growing up so fast right before our eyes. She's 4 months old now but she's in 6-9 month clothes! She's such a beautiful healthy little girl and we love her SO much!



Back in October Brandon got an amazing new job with doTERRA Essential Oils and in January he was asked to film their Incentive Trip in Cancun. They were nice enough to extend the invitation for Scarlet and I to tag along and after getting the 'go ahead' from the pediatrician we totally were all over it! We had to expedite a Passport for her and it was SO cute getting that all filled out, with the 24.5 inches tall and grey eyes and the only picture with her eyes open being one with her tongue sticking out, we were finally good to go there! It was also amazingly hard finding a swimming suit for a 2 month old during January anywhere, even on the internet! So my amazing sister Amy came to the rescue, as always, and was able to track one down that her sister-in-law was nice enough to let us borrow. Luckily Scarlet is such a chubby bunny because even though it was quite a few months older, it still fit great!

Obviously my biggest concern about the whole trip were the flights. Brandon's flights were scheduled a few weeks before ours and we weren't able to get on the same plane! I was not about to let that stop me though! Cancun was just calling for us! To my relief, my worry over how the flights were going to go was much worse then how the flights actually went! Scarlet was a trooper and slept or ate most of the time! We had a little rough patch on our way home through Phoenix, going through customs was quite a nightmare, but other then that, it was such a breeze. We also were lucky enough to be on flights with other doTERRA people and they were quick to come to aid if I ever needed help with bags or anything. It was such a fun trip and such a needed break away from everything. There was absolutely no pressure to cook or clean or do anything but hang out with Scarlet and occasionally Brandon (when he finished filming for the moment) it was absolutely amazing!! I couldn't get enough of just sitting by the pool or hanging out at the beach and just watching Scarlet. She was finally at an age where she started noticing things. She was so intrigued by the palm trees and was so excited every time a seagull flew over. It was such a refreshing thing to sit and soak in the trip through her eyes.


At first she was quite confused, but quickly grew to LOVE being outside without a bunch of blankets piled on and the carrier cover blocking the view! She absolutely loved being outside in in the open with the sun and beautiful weather shining down. As did I!!


Daddy was SO excited to see us!! :)
Brandon left the day before us, and he said he missed us so much and couldn't wait for us to get there! (I think he was just as nervous about the flight as i was.)

Finally!! We were able to meet up with Brandon for some dinner! This Mexican Restaurant was one of our favorites for sure!


Maybe I was a little more excited to see daddy.. Haha! Poor thing she was so worn out from all the sun. She slept SO great that whole trip!

So any of you who know Brandon knows he HATES sand on his feet. And despite my efforts to explain that if you just wait a few minutes the sand will dry and you can just brush it off, he does not care.. Haha! He has to get the sand of RIGHT NOW! So this little shower thing was SO amazing to him. I thought it'd be really fun to put Scarlet's feet under the water, and I was really intrigued to see how the water would come right out of the wall!! ...





This is the view from our balcony! So gorgeous! We definitely hope to do another family trip there someday!!

Definitely the perfect way to send off my maternity leave. It was such a sad thing to come home knowing I was going to have to start work again the following Monday, but so wonderful at the same time to have such precious time with her.

Scarlet Anne

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Brandon and I are up late putting some final touches on a Christmas gift, so while we're doing that, I wanted to FINALLY take the time to tell you all about a gorgeous new girl who joined our family!

On 10.23.11 (so exciting we now have the same birthday!) at 8:28am Scarlet Anne Orton finally decided to join our family. :)
Weighing 9lbs 2oz and measuring in at 22in she's been a big bundle of joy that we just cannot get enough of.

I think it's quite obvious that I'm a terrible blogger and it takes me forever to update this thing. In adult world, not such a big deal because two months can go by and not much has changed! But baby world is a whole other thing. She gets so much bigger and -if it's possible- even cuter every day! She's officially smiling!! :) YAY!! And it makes our heart melt every time. Here's an idea of what it's like...

Scarlet had her baby blessing on December 18th, it was so exciting, all of her family was able to be there! :)

I thought it was really fun, her blessing dress was made from my wedding dress! DL (an awesome Orton family friend) did SUCH an amazing job! Thank you again SO MUCH!!


She also wore the same shoes I wore on my blessing day.

I know, I know... to say the least. it's been AWHILE. So many wonderful things have happened and I'd love to take a minute and share them with all of you. Since last BYU season ended some pretty epic things have happened.

Baby Girl Orton is coming!! She's expected 10.24.11!!

We're so excited for all the wonderful things we've been blessed with the past few months and really can't wait for the exciting adventures ahead!

While we anxiously await the arrival of our beautiful little girl, we luckily have some pretty fun things to keep us busy to help the time speed by.
-Harry Potter 7.2 is coming out in 5 DAYS!!
-We're celebrating our 4 Year Anniversary on the 27th- HOLY CRAP!
-We have the annual Hutchison Reunion in Bear Lake, ALWAYS a good time.
-And if you can believe it, BYU season is getting ready to start again!! Brandon can believe it, it's taking FOREVER to get here! :) We've hit up TJ Maxx so many times we're totally stocked with our BYU gear that -might- last us all season. We even have a little something ready for the baby when she finally comes.

Football Season is upon us!
